Delicious Easter sweet bread.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 250 g Milk, lukewarm
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 550 g Spelt flour, Type 700
  • 0.5 cube Yeast, fresh
  • 7 g Salt
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 60 g Butter, room temperature
  • 1 piece Egg for brushing
  • Almond slivers for sprinkling

Preparation (6 steps)

Mix milk and eggs

Put milk and eggs into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./level 3.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Put spelt flour into the mixing bowl and crumble the yeast over it. Add salt, sugar and butter. Knead with the Patix dough knife for 2 min./kneading level to a smooth dough.

Let the dough rise

Let the covered dough rest for about 30 minutes in a warm place.

Shape dough and let rise again

Form the dough into a smooth ball and let it rest, covered, for another 10 minutes.

Braid

Roll the dough ball into three strands of equal length and braid into a braid. Place the braid on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let it rest, covered, for another 15-20 minutes.

Brush and bake

Brush the braid with beaten egg and sprinkle with the almond slivers. Bake the sweet bread in a preheated oven at 170 °C circulating air for 30 minutes.
