Description

This layered taco bake is a family favorite! It's hearty, flavorful, and perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a fun party. The combination of seasoned ground beef, salsa, chili beans, and layers of crushed tortilla chips creates a delicious and satisfying meal. I love how easy it is to customize with your favorite toppings like sour cream, olives, green onions, tomatoes, and plenty of cheddar cheese. This bake is also great for using up leftover taco ingredients. It takes about an hour from start to finish, and the result is a warm, cheesy, and comforting dish that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 450 g lean ground beef
  • 480 ml salsa
  • 450 g chili beans, drained

  • 56 g sliced black olives, drained
  • 0.5 cups chopped green onion
  • 0.5 cups chopped fresh tomato
  • 480 ml shredded Cheddar cheese

2

Cook Ground Beef

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir 1 pound of lean ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.

3

Combine Beef and Salsa

Add 2 cups of salsa to the cooked ground beef in the skillet. Reduce heat and simmer until the liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4

Add Chili Beans

Stir in 1 (16 ounce) can of drained chili beans into the beef mixture. Cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.

5

Assemble Casserole

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Spread the crushed tortilla chips over the bottom of the baking dish. Spoon the beef mixture on top of the chips.

6

Add Toppings

Spread 2 cups of sour cream over the beef mixture. Sprinkle 1 (2 ounce) can of drained sliced black olives, ½ cup of chopped green onion, and ½ cup of chopped fresh tomato on top of the sour cream. Cover with 2 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese.

7

Bake Casserole

Bake in the preheated oven until hot and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
