Description

Toad in the Hole is a hearty British oven dish with sausages in batter. This recipe for the Thermomix® is easy to prepare and ideal as a main course for the whole family. The preparation time is about one hour, including the resting time for the dough. Perfect for cold days and lovers of hearty cuisine.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 8 piece Sausages
  • 140 g Flour
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • to taste Salt

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare sausages

Fry the sausages with a little oil in a separate pan until golden brown all over. Then set aside.

Mix flour, eggs and milk

Add 140g flour to the mixing bowl. Add 2 eggs. Add 200ml milk. Add a pinch of salt.

Let the dough rest

Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

Heat fat

Put 2 tbsp sunflower oil in an ovenproof dish (approx. 20 x 30 cm) and heat in the preheated oven at 220°C (gas mark 7) until very hot.

Pour dough into the dish

Carefully remove the dish from the oven and pour in the dough. Distribute the fried sausages evenly in the dough.

Bake

Put the dish back in the oven and bake for 30 minutes until the dough has risen and is golden brown. Do not open the oven door during baking.
