Description

This curry rice is a real taste experience! I often make it when I need something quick and still want something hearty on the table. The rice is refined with aromatic vegetable broth, curry and a Chinese spice mix. The bay leaf adds an extra depth of flavour. Perfect as a side dish or as a light main course. If you like, you can add some vegetables. A really uncomplicated and delicious dish!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 0.3 kg Rice
  • 600 ml Vegetable broth
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • Curry
  • 1 Lorbeerblätter Bay leaves
  • OilOlive oil
  • Spice mixtureChinese Mild paprika powder

Preparation (4 steps)

Chop onion

Peel, quarter and add the onion to the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./level 5.

Sauté onion

Add some oil to the mixing bowl and sauté the onion for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Add rice and spices

20 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the rice, vegetable broth, curry powder, China spice, mild paprika and bay leaf to the mixing bowl and simmer for 20 min./100°C/level 1/reverse.

Finish cooking the rice

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Continue to cook the rice for another 5 min./100°C/level 1/reverse in the mixing bowl without the measuring cup, stirring occasionally through the filling hole with the spatula.
