Description

These fine walnut cookies are an absolute classic and are simply a must during the Christmas season! I have been making them since I was a child and they taste delicious every time. The combination of delicate cookies and the nutty aroma of the walnuts is simply unbeatable. They are perfect for Advent coffee or as a small gift from the kitchen. Preparation is very simple and with the Thermomix® it is even faster. Try it out, you will be thrilled!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 150 g Butter (room temperature)
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 piece Egg (size M)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 200 g Walnuts (ground)
  • 200 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 1 pinch Salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract

Thermomix® Setting

Put 150 g butter (room temperature), 100 g sugar, 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract into the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec/speed 4.

Add walnuts, flour and salt

2 min/Kneading speed

Add 200 g ground walnuts, 200 g wheat flour type 405 and 1 pinch of salt and knead for 2 min/kneading stage to a smooth dough.

Cool dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

While the dough is cooling, preheat the oven to 180 °C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with baking paper.

Shape cookies

Take small portions of the chilled dough and form into balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet with a little space between them and flatten them slightly.

Bake cookies

Bake the walnut cookies in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

Let cool

Remove the baked cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then carefully transfer them to a wire rack with the baking paper and let them cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
