Description

This refreshing watermelon dessert is perfect for a hot summer day! Slices of juicy watermelon are topped with a generous layer of whipped cream and sweet, macerated strawberries. It's a light and flavorful treat that's easy to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser. I love how the sweetness of the strawberries complements the coolness of the watermelon. This is a great alternative to traditional desserts and is naturally gluten-free. It's ideal for picnics, barbecues, or any summer gathering. You can easily adjust the amount of whipped cream and strawberries to your liking.

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 227 g fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 slice center-cut slice of watermelon, about 1 inch thick
  • 237 ml whipped cream, or to taste

Preparation (5 steps)

1

Macerate Strawberries

Place 8 ounces of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced, into a medium bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and gently mix until the strawberries are thoroughly coated. Allow the strawberries to macerate for 10 to 20 minutes at room temperature. No Thermomix settings are needed for this step.

2

Prepare Watermelon

Cut the 1-inch thick center-cut slice of watermelon into 8 wedges, keeping them together to maintain the round shape. Pat the watermelon dry with a paper towel or clean dish towel to remove excess moisture. No Thermomix settings are needed for this step.

3

Whip Cream (Optional)

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/keine/Speed 3.5

If you prefer to make your own whipped cream, add 1 cup of heavy cream to the Thermomix bowl. Insert the butterfly whisk. Whip for 2 minutes / Stufe 3.5 until stiff peaks form. Keep an eye on it to prevent over-whipping.

Assemble Dessert

Carefully spread 1 cup of whipped cream onto the center of the watermelon round. Don't be afraid to pile it on, as the cream will sink slightly under the weight of the strawberries. No Thermomix settings are needed for this step.

5

Add Strawberries

Spoon the macerated strawberries and their juices evenly over the whipped cream-covered watermelon. Serve immediately to prevent the watermelon from becoming soggy. No Thermomix settings are needed for this step.
