Description

This lentil dish with red wine is a true comforting delight, perfect for autumn and winter evenings. I discovered this recipe a few years ago, and since then, it has become a staple in my kitchen. The lentils, cooked with a full-bodied red wine and savory sausages, offer an explosion of flavors in the mouth. Morteau sausage adds a smoky and gourmet touch that goes perfectly with the wine. It is a simple dish to make, but it will impress your guests with its originality and rich taste. Feel free to accompany it with a good baguette of fresh bread to soak up the juice! A perfect dish for large tables and moments of sharing.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 1 bouteille red wine
  • 2 piece Morteau sausages
  • 1 bouquet thyme and bay leaf
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 500 g dried lentils
  • 20 g butter

Cooking the lentils

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

If using dried lentils, rinse them thoroughly. Place them in the Thermomix cooking basket. Add water to the bowl until the lentils are covered. Cook 25 Min./100°C/Stufe 1. Check the cooking and extend if necessary. If using canned lentils, drain and rinse them.

Preparing the base

Put 20g of butter in the Thermomix bowl and melt 2 Min./60°C/Stufe 1.

Adding the ingredients

Add the cooked (or canned) lentils, bouquet garni (thyme, bay leaf), a pinch of pepper, the two Morteau sausages cut into pieces and half a bottle of red wine to the Thermomix bowl. Mix gently with the spatula.

Simmered cooking

60 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 90 Reverse

Cook over low heat 60 Min./90°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1. Check the amount of liquid and add red wine if necessary.

Second cooking and adjustment

Thermomix® Setting
60 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 90 Reverse

Add a quarter of a bottle of red wine. Mix gently with the spatula. Continue cooking 60 Min./90°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Checking and serving

Check the cooking of the lentils and the seasoning. Serve hot.
