Description

This braised chicken in the style of the Ardennes is a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for autumn or winter evenings. I often prepare it for a Sunday family meal, and it is always a hit. The chicken, tender and juicy, is enhanced by the smoked bacon and a slightly colored sauce flavored with spices. Accompanied by crispy fries and a fresh salad, it's a real treat! The preparation is simple and the Thermomix® greatly facilitates cooking. Feel free to adjust the spices according to your tastes for a personalized flavor.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 1 pack Smoked bacon
  • 1 c. à soupe Small onions
  • 50 g Margarine
  • 1 verre White wine
  • 2 verre Water
  • 2 feuilles Bay leaf
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Special chicken spices

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the chicken

Melt 50 g of margarine in a pan. Add the whole chicken and brown it on all sides for about 10 minutes.

Seasoning and initial cooking

Salt and pepper the chicken. Add a large amount of paprika, special spices for chicken and 2 bay leaves. Leave to cook in the pan for an additional 10 minutes.

Adding liquids and long cooking

60 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Transfer the chicken to the Thermomix bowl. Add 2 glasses of water and 1 glass of white wine. Program 60 minutes/100°C/Stufe 1.

Adding bacon and onions

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 1 packet of smoked bacon and 1 tablespoon of small onions (with a little of their juice) to the Thermomix bowl. Program 15 minutes/100°C/Stufe 1.

Seasoning adjustment

Taste and adjust the seasoning with a little paprika and chicken spices according to your taste. The sauce should be lightly colored.

Service

Cut the chicken and serve immediately with fries and a salad with vinaigrette.
