Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 450 g Sweet potato(es)
  • 1 große Bell pepper(s), red
  • 2 Garlic clove(s)
  • 2 m.-große Onion(s)
  • 1 EL Olive oil
  • 2 EL Tomato paste
  • 2 TL Curry powder
  • 2 TL Turmeric powder
  • 1 TL Garam Masala
  • Salt and pepper
  • 200 g Lentils, red
  • 500 ml Coconut milk
  • 250 ml Vegetable broth

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare sweet potato, bell pepper, garlic and onion

Peel 450 g of sweet potatoes and cut into cubes. Also dice 1 large red bell pepper. Peel 2 cloves of garlic. Quarter 2 medium-sized onions.

Chop onions

Place the quartered onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté onions

Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7

Add the peeled garlic to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Add sweet potatoes and bell pepper

Add the diced sweet potatoes and bell pepper to the mixing bowl.

Add tomato paste and spices

3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 2 tbsp of tomato paste, 2 tsp of curry powder, 2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of Garam Masala, salt and pepper to taste to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add lentils, coconut milk and vegetable broth

Add 200 g of red lentils, 500 ml of coconut milk and 250 ml of vegetable broth to the mixing bowl.

Simmer the curry

25 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Simmer the curry for 25 min./100°C/Reverse Blade speed 1. Use the spatula to stir the curry occasionally to prevent it from burning.
