Description

This creamy potato-kohlrabi casserole is a hearty and vegetarian dish that is perfect for colder days. With the Thermomix® the preparation is quick and easy. The casserole is gluten-free and offers a delicious combination of potatoes, kohlrabi and a creamy cream cheese sauce. Ideal as a main course for the whole family.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 600 g firm cooking potatoes
  • 600 g Kohlrabi
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic
  • 200 g Cream cheese
  • 200 g Cream
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • nach Geschmack Nutmeg
  • 100 g grated Cheese

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Put onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 5. Add garlic and chop for 3 sec./level 7.

Prepare potatoes and kohlrabi

Peel the potatoes and kohlrabi and cut into approx. 2 cm cubes. Set aside the prepared cubes.

Pre-cook potatoes and kohlrabi

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Place potato and kohlrabi cubes in the simmering basket. Add 700 ml water to the mixing bowl, insert the simmering basket and cook for 20 min./100°C/level 1.

Drain potatoes and kohlrabi

After cooking, remove the simmering basket with the spatula and pour the potato and kohlrabi cubes into a casserole dish. Empty the cooking water from the mixing bowl.

Prepare cream cheese sauce

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Put cream cheese, cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./level 3.

Layer and bake casserole

Pour the cream cheese sauce over the potato and kohlrabi cubes in the casserole dish and mix well. Spread the grated cheese evenly over it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat for 20-30 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
