About this recipe

The cheese chili pizza, as I know it, is actually an adaptation of a Tex-Mex classic that has established itself in countless kitchens over the years. I still remember my first attempts to prepare a similar pizza without Thermomix®. Frying the minced meat was always a small challenge because it could burn quickly. With the Thermomix®, that's history now! The key to a really good cheese chili pizza lies in the ingredients. The pizza dough from the refrigerated section is a practical base, but if you have time, you can of course make your own dough. The jalapeño cream cheese brings a pleasant spiciness and creaminess that harmonizes perfectly with the spicy minced meat. Tomato paste provides a slightly acidic note and serves as a binding agent for the topping. The ground beef is the heart of the pizza and provides the savory base. The onion, bell pepper and jalapeños contribute further flavors and textures. The cheddar cheese, with its strong flavor, rounds everything off. When preparing in the Thermomix®, it is important not to chop the onion too finely, as it could otherwise burn during frying. The temperature of 120°C is ideal for frying the minced meat without it drying out. Make sure to loosen the minced meat again and again with the spatula during frying so that it browns evenly. The bell pepper is added later so that it still retains some bite. The amount of jalapeños can be adjusted depending on the desired spiciness. If you like it milder, you can also use pickled jalapeños, which are less spicy. For a vegetarian version, the minced meat can be replaced with a plant-based alternative. Tofu, soy granules or lentils are well suited as a base. A vegan cheese can also be used instead of cheddar cheese. There are no limits to your imagination when it comes to spices. Cumin, oregano or smoked paprika give the pizza a special touch. The cheese chili pizza tastes best fresh from the oven. It goes well with a crispy salad with a light vinaigrette dressing. A dip of sour cream or guacamole rounds off the taste experience. A cool beer or a glass of red wine are the perfect accompaniments. If there is any pizza left over, it can be stored in the refrigerator and warmed up the next day. It also tastes very good cold. If you want to prepare the pizza in advance, you can prepare the minced meat topping in advance and store it in the refrigerator. This saves time on baking day.
