Description

This ginger and lime chicken is a simple and tasty dish, perfect for a family meal or a dinner with friends. The marinade with fresh grated ginger and lime juice brings a freshness and an exotic fragrance to the poultry. I have been preparing this dish for years and it is always a hit. The chicken is tender and juicy, with a slight tangy note and a ginger scent that awakens the taste buds. Feel free to add a little chili to enhance the taste. Serve it with basmati rice or seasonal vegetables for a complete and balanced meal. A real delight!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken thighs
  • 1 morceau(x) Fresh ginger
  • 1 piece Lime(s)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (10 steps)

1

Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (th. 6). This step is crucial for even cooking of the chicken.

2

Prepare the chicken thighs

Place the 4 chicken thighs in a large salad bowl. Make sure they are well distributed for an even marinade.

3

Prepare the lime juice

Rinse 1 lime, cut it in half and squeeze it to collect the juice in a bowl. The lime juice will bring a touch of acidity and freshness to the chicken.

4

Grate the ginger

Wash 1 piece of fresh ginger carefully, then grate it into the lime juice. The fresh ginger will bring a spicy and fragrant flavor to the chicken.

5

Mix the marinade

Pour the mixture of lime juice and grated ginger over the chicken thighs in the salad bowl.

6

Season and mix

Season with salt and pepper, then mix well so that the chicken is soaked in the juice. Use your hands to massage the chicken thighs well with the marinade.

7

Marinate the chicken

Let marinate for a good hour, without forgetting to turn the thighs from time to time so that both sides are well soaked in the juice. The longer the marinade, the more flavorful the chicken will be.

8

Oven cooking

Then place the thighs in a gratin dish, then spread the mixture of lemon and grated ginger on top. Make sure the thighs do not overlap for even cooking.

9

Add water and bake

Pour a little water into the bottom of the dish, then put it in the oven. The water will keep the chicken soft during cooking.

10

Cook the chicken

Leave to cook for about thirty minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown. Check the cooking by pricking the thigh with a fork: the juice should be clear.
