Description

This homemade sliced bread is a delight for breakfast or snack. The recipe is simple, although it requires patience for the rising. The malt extract gives it a touch of color and special flavor, but if you prefer a whiter bread, you can omit it. The 0000 flour, also known as weak flour, is ideal to obtain a soft and fluffy crumb. Preparing your own bread at home is a rewarding experience, and the aroma that floods the kitchen is simply irresistible. Go ahead and try it! Perfect for sandwiches, toast or just to enjoy with a little butter. This bread is ideal to share with family or friends, and its homemade flavor makes it a must in any home.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 600 mililitros water
  • 1 tsp malt extract
  • 25 gramos margarine
  • 20 gramos salt
  • 20 gramos baker's yeast
  • 1 kilogramo 0000 flour

Dissolve the malt in water

Pour 600 ml of water into the Thermomix bowl. Add 1 tsp of malt extract and program 10 sec./Speed 3 to dissolve completely.

Incorporate margarine and salt

Thermomix® Setting

Add 25 g of margarine (at room temperature) and 20 g of salt to the Thermomix bowl. Program 15 sec./Speed 3 to integrate the ingredients.

Mix flour and yeast

In a separate bowl, mix 1 kg of 0000 flour previously sifted with 20 g of crumbled baker's yeast. Make sure the yeast is well distributed in the flour.

Knead the dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add the flour and yeast mixture to the Thermomix bowl. Program 3 min./Knead function to form a homogeneous dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.

First rising

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl, form a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in volume.

Deflate and stretch the dough

After the first rising, knead the dough lightly to remove excess gas. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to form a thin rectangle.

Roll the dough

Roll the rectangle of dough along the narrowest part, pressing on each turn to remove excess gas.

Divide and place in molds

Cut the roll in half and place each part in a previously greased rectangular mold (approximately 30x10x10 cm).

Second rising and preheat the oven

Adjust the dough to the molds, cover them and let it rest until the dough almost reaches the edges. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 240°C.

Bake the bread

Bake the sliced bread for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown. The time may vary depending on the oven.

Cool and unmold

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool completely before unmolding it. Once cold, let it rest on a wire rack for 24 hours before slicing it.
