Description

These oat flake sticks are a hearty bread and roll recipe that is ideal for breakfast or as finger food. With a preparation time of only 25 minutes, they are quick to prepare and offer a good alternative to conventional rolls. The sticks are vegetarian and can be refined with various seeds and kernels as desired. Perfect for a hearty start to the day.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 500 g Oat Flakes Fine Leaf
  • 260 ml Water
  • 570 g Granular Cream Cheese
  • 1 EL Baking Powder
  • 2 TL Salt
  • 140 g Kernels and Seeds of Choice (Chia Seeds, Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds, Sesame)

Preparation (6 steps)

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection) and line a baking sheet with baking paper.

Let oat flakes and water soak

Place 500 g oat flakes fine leaf and 260 ml water in a bowl and leave to soak for approx. 5 minutes.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 570 g granular cream cheese, 1-2 tbsp baking powder and 2 tsp salt to the oat flakes and mix with the Meistermix Patix dough knife for 2 min./kneading speed to a smooth dough.

Prepare kernels

Place 140 g kernels and seeds of your choice (e.g. chia seeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, sesame) in a plate.

Shape and roll sticks

Divide the oat flake stick dough into 12 parts and form into sticks with moistened hands. Roll the sticks in the kernels so that they are evenly covered on all sides and place on the baking sheet.

Baking

Bake the oat flake sticks for about 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
