Description

This creamy poultry gratin is a comforting and easy-to-prepare dish, perfect for autumn or winter evenings. I often make it when I have leftover roast chicken, but you can also use fresh chicken pieces. The smooth béchamel, flavored with nutmeg, coats the pieces of poultry and onion, all gratinéed under a generous layer of gruyere. A real delight! This dish is ideal for a family meal and can be prepared in advance. Feel free to add some seasonal vegetables for a more complete version. A simple, tasty and always appreciated gratin!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 Noisette Butter
  • Grated Gruyere
  • Nutmeg
  • Pepper
  • 30 g Flour
  • 30 g Butter
  • 0.33 l Milk
  • Salt

Preparation (10 steps)

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C (th.6). This step is essential to ensure even cooking of the gratin.

Prepare the chicken

Cut 1 kg of chicken into small pieces. Set aside.

Chop the onion

Thermomix® Setting

Peel 1 onion and cut it into four. Put it in the bowl of the Thermomix® and chop it for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Sauté the onion

Add a knob of butter (about 15g) to the bowl of the Thermomix® and sauté the onion for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the chicken

Remove the onion from the Thermomix®. In a pan, sauté the chicken pieces with a little fat until they are golden brown. Pepper.

Prepare the béchamel

Put 30 g of butter in the bowl of the Thermomix® and melt it for 2 Min./50°C/Stufe 2.

Add the flour

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add 30 g of flour to the bowl of the Thermomix® and mix for 20 Sek./Stufe 3.

Cook the béchamel

Thermomix® Setting
7 min/194°F/Speed 4 90

Add 0.33 l of milk, a pinch of nutmeg and salt to the bowl of the Thermomix®. Cook for 7 Min./90°C/Stufe 4.

Assemble the gratin

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add the chicken and onion mixture to the béchamel in the bowl of the Thermomix®. Mix gently for 10 Sek./Linkslauf Stufe 2.

Pour the mixture into a gratin dish and cover with grated Gruyere. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the gratin is golden brown.
