Description

These "Lollipop chicken" are a fun and tasty way to present chicken! I remember when I first prepared them for my nephew's birthday party: they were a hit! The chicken thigh is transformed into a sort of breaded and fried "chupa chupa", becoming crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The garlic powder, cumin and spice mix add a touch of irresistible flavor. Perfect as finger food or for an informal meal, they will appeal to young and old. Preparation requires a bit of dexterity, but the end result is worth it!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken thigh
  • 100 g Flour
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 100 g Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Four spices
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 500 ml Peanut oil
  • 1 pinch Salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Preparation of the chicken thighs

Cut the skin of the chicken thighs and remove it. Cut the tendons and fold the meat backwards, moving it upwards to form a ball. Set aside.

Preparation of flavored flour

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Put 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of four spices and the cumin in the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 Sec./Stufe 3 to mix the spices.

Adding the flour and mixing

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 4

Add the flour to the Thermomix bowl and mix for 15 Sek./Stufe 4 to mix the flour with the spices. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.

Preparation of the beaten eggs

Break the eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt and beat with a fork.

Breading the chicken

Pass the chupa chupa first in the flavored flour, then in the beaten egg, repeating the operation twice. Finally, pass the drumsticks in the breadcrumbs.

Frying the chicken

Fry the drumsticks in plenty of boiling seed oil in a pan until golden brown, taking about 4-5 minutes.

Service

Wrap the thigh bone with aluminum foil and serve the chupa chupa with a sprinkling of salt.
