Description

This apple sauce with roasted nuts is a poem! I especially like to make it in autumn when the apples are fresh from the tree. The combination of sweet apple sauce and crunchy nuts is simply unbeatable. It's not just a delicious dessert, but also a great breakfast or a sweet snack in between. The preparation is super easy and the Thermomix® makes the work child's play. If you like, you can add some cinnamon or vanilla. An absolute must for all apple sauce lovers!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1.5 kg Apples
  • 200 g Whole cane sugar
  • 300 ml Apple juice, naturally cloudy
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt
  • 20 g Walnuts
  • 20 g Pine nuts
  • 20 g Pecans
  • 20 g Cashews

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare apples

Preheat the oven to 165°C circulating air. Peel, core and roughly dice the apples. Please perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.

Caramelize sugar

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Put 200 g whole cane sugar and 3 tbsp water into the mixing bowl and caramelize for 5 min./120°C/speed 1 without a measuring cup.

Add apples and apple juice

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the prepared apple pieces, 300 ml naturally cloudy apple juice and 1 pinch of salt to the mixing bowl and simmer for 20 min./100°C/speed 1 reverse without a measuring cup.

Roast nuts

Spread the walnuts, pine nuts, pecans and cashews on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until golden brown. Please perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.

Chop nuts

Coarsely chop the roasted nuts. Please perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.

Mix in nuts

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 1 Reverse

Add the chopped nuts to the apples in the mixing bowl and stir in for 5 sec./speed 1 reverse.

Filling

Pour the hot nut apple sauce into sterilized preserving jars and seal well. Please perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.
