Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 500 g Chicken breast fillet
  • 1 EL light soy sauce
  • 1 TL Cornstarch
  • 2 Stk. Garlic cloves
  • 1 Stk. Red bell pepper
  • 200 g Carrots
  • 1 Stk. Broccoli
  • 200 g Green beans
  • 2 EL Sesame oil
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • 2 TL Cornstarch
  • 100 ml Water
  • 4 EL light soy sauce
  • 2 EL dark soy sauce
  • 1 TL Brown sugar
  • 0.25 TL Sambal Olek

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare the chicken

Cut 500 g chicken breast fillet into small, bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, salt and pepper. Marinate the chicken in it and set aside.

Chop the garlic

Place 2 garlic cloves in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 7. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Prepare the vegetables

Cut 1 red bell pepper into pieces. Cut 200 g carrots into thin slices. Divide 1 broccoli into florets. Halve 200 g green beans.

Prepare Chop Suey Sauce

For the sauce, mix 2 tsp cornstarch and 100 ml water in a bowl. Then stir in 4 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tsp brown sugar and 1/4 tsp Sambal Olek.

Fry the chicken

Heat 2 tbsp sesame oil in a large pan and fry the marinated chicken in it on all sides. Then remove from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the vegetables

Add the chopped garlic, peppers, carrots, broccoli and beans to the pan and fry over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add sauce and simmer

Stir the prepared sauce into the vegetables, put the lid on the pan and simmer everything gently for 5 minutes. If necessary, simmer for longer until the vegetables have reached the desired consistency.

Mix in the chicken

Stir the fried chicken into the vegetables and mix everything well. Serve.
