Description

These butter biscuits are a classic that never fails. The recipe is simple and the result, crunchy and delicious biscuits, perfect to accompany a glass of milk or a coffee. I prepare them often, especially at Christmas, because my children love them. The dough is made very quickly with the Thermomix®, and after a while in the fridge, it is very easy to stretch and cut. Go ahead and try them, I assure you you won't regret it! You can decorate them with icing sugar or melted chocolate to give them a special touch.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 250 g plain flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 piece egg
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Sift the flour and mix with the sugar

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Place 250 g of flour in the Thermomix bowl and sift for 10 seconds/speed 4. Add 125 g of sugar and mix for 5 seconds/speed 3.

Incorporate the butter

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Add 125 g of butter at room temperature to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 seconds/speed 4 until a sandy consistency is obtained.

Add egg and vanilla

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 4

Add 1 previously beaten egg and 1 tsp of vanilla to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 30 seconds/speed 4 until a firm dough forms.

Add the salt

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Add 1 pinch of salt to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 seconds/speed 3.

Refrigerate the dough

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl, wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Roll out and cut out the biscuits

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Roll out the dough on a floured surface with a rolling pin until it is approximately 5 mm thick. Cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter.

Bake the biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
