Description

These citrus cookies are a delight for any time of day. The combination of lemon and orange gives them a fresh and vibrant flavor that makes them irresistible. The recipe is very simple and perfect to make with children. I often prepare them for breakfast or snack, and they are always a success. The dough is soft and easy to work with, and the aroma they give off when baked is simply wonderful. Also, they keep well for several days in an airtight container. Go ahead and try them, you will love them! They are ideal to accompany a coffee or tea, or simply to enjoy alone. The zest of the citrus fruits intensifies the flavor and aroma, making these cookies a unique experience.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 250 gramos Flour
  • 125 gramos Lard
  • 150 gramos Sugar
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 0.5 cucharadita Chemical yeast
  • 1 piece Lemon
  • 1 piece Orange

Preparation (9 steps)

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C. This ensures that the cookies are cooked evenly.

Squeeze the citrus fruits

Squeeze the juice of half an orange and half a lemon. Strain the juice to remove the seeds and pulp.

Mix the lard and sugar

Put the lard in the Thermomix bowl. Add the sugar and mix 20 sec./Stufe 4 until a homogeneous cream is obtained.

Add the eggs

Add an egg to the bowl and mix 10 sec./Stufe 3.

Incorporate the flour and baking powder

Thermomix® Setting
20 Seg./Speed 4

Add the flour and baking powder to the bowl. Mix 20 sec./Stufe 4 until the ingredients are integrated.

Add the juices

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Incorporate the orange and lemon juices into the bowl. Knead 2 Min./Knetstufe until a homogeneous dough is obtained.

Form the cookies

Remove the dough from the bowl. With moistened hands, form balls of the same size and place them on a tray covered with baking paper, separated from each other.

Flatten and paint the cookies

Flatten the cookies slightly and paint them with the remaining beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake the cookies

Bake the cookies for 15 to 20 minutes at 180°C, or until golden brown.
