Description

Classic vanilla crescent cookies, perfect for Christmas and other festive occasions.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 250 g Flour
  • 200 g Almonds
  • 175 g cold Butter in pieces
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Grind almonds

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 10

Add 200 g almonds to the mixing bowl and grind for 15 sec/speed 10. Transfer and set aside.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 250 g flour, 75 g sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 175 g cold butter in pieces and the ground almonds to the mixing bowl and process for 2 min/kneading stage to a smooth dough.

Chill dough

Form the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Shape crescent cookies

Preheat the oven to 175 °C top/bottom heat. Form the dough into rolls (approx. 1 cm diameter) in portions and cut them into approx. 5 cm long pieces. Shape the dough pieces into crescent cookies and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake crescent cookies

Bake the crescent cookies in the preheated oven for approx. 10-12 minutes until they are lightly golden brown.

Mix sugar

Add 50 g sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 5 sec/speed 8.

Sugar crescent cookies

Carefully roll the still warm crescent cookies in the sugar mixture and let them cool down on a wire rack.
