Description

These shortcrust pastry biscuits from the Thermomix® are a classic for Christmas time and other festive occasions. The main ingredients are flour, butter, icing sugar and egg yolk. Preparation takes about 90 minutes, of which 30 minutes are active working time. The recipe is ideal as finger food or dessert and is perfect for anyone who enjoys baking.

  • Butter
  • Icing sugar
  • Egg yolk
  • Vanilla sugar
  • Salt
  • Sprinkling sugar
  • Jam

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Put flour, butter, icing sugar, egg yolk, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt into the mixing bowl and knead to a smooth dough.

Chill dough

Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and chill for at least one hour.

Preheat oven

Preheat oven to 180°C top and bottom heat.

Roll out and cut out dough

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to about 0.5 cm thick and cut out biscuits. (Note: Same number of lids as bottoms)

Bake biscuits

Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 12 minutes until golden brown.

Let biscuits cool down

Bake the biscuits rather light and let them cool down well.

Decorate and assemble biscuits

Let cool. Sprinkle biscuit lids with sprinkling sugar. Spread biscuit bases with jam in the middle and place the lid on top and press down a little so that the holes fill with jam.
