Description

This chocolate chip pound cake is a true classic and super easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. I often bake it when visitors announce themselves spontaneously or I just feel like something sweet. The chocolate chips make it particularly juicy and chocolatey. The cake is perfect for afternoon coffee or as a sweet surprise for a birthday. If you like, you can cover it with a chocolate glaze. It can also be prepared well in advance and stays fresh for a few days. An absolute favorite recipe!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 200 g Wheat flour type 405 or 550, or spelt flour type 630
  • 2 tsp level baking powder
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla sugar
  • 3 piece Egg(s)
  • 150 g Butter soft
  • 70 ml Milk possibly more
  • 70 g Chocolate chips
  • Fat for the mold
  • 100 g Chocolate coating or chocolate glaze

Preparation (6 steps)

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 175-180°C top/bottom heat.

Mix dry ingredients

10 sec/Speed 4

Add flour, baking powder and sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 4.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/Speed 3

Add eggs, soft butter and milk and mix for 5 min/speed 3 to a creamy dough. If necessary, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk until the dough tears heavily from the spoon.

Stir in chocolate chips

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add chocolate chips and stir in for 5 sec/reverse speed 2.

Bake dough

Grease a loaf pan (25-30 cm) or a bundt cake pan (23 cm diameter). Pour the dough into the mold and spread it out, smoothing it out a little. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 min (stick test!). If it is flatter, it may be ready after 20-35 min.

Decorate cake

Coat the cooled cake with the melted chocolate coating or glaze.
