Description

These puff pastry snacks with sesame and poppy seeds are a real eye-catcher at every buffet! I love making them when I need something quick and special on the table. The salty puff pastry harmonizes wonderfully with the nutty aromas of sesame and poppy seeds. They are perfect as a small snack in between, as a side dish to a salad or as part of a festive buffet. Preparation is very easy and with the Thermomix® it is even faster. Try it out, you will be thrilled!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Puff pastry
  • Sesame seeds
  • Poppy seeds
  • 1 piece Egg
  • Salt

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare egg-milk mixture

Whisk one egg with two tablespoons of milk in a small bowl. This mixture is needed to brush the puff pastry. Save the remaining egg-milk mixture.

Prepare puff pastry

Roll out the puff pastry on the included baking paper liner and brush evenly with the egg-milk mixture.

Distribute seeds

Sprinkle the puff pastry with sesame and poppy seeds. The seeds can be distributed as desired.

Roll puff pastry

Roll up the puff pastry from one short side. Make sure that the roll becomes firm and even.

Cool roll

Wrap the puff pastry roll in baking paper and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. This makes cutting easier.

Cut roll

Remove the chilled puff pastry roll from the freezer and cut into slices about 1 cm thick.

Brush snacks

Place the puff pastry slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with the remaining egg-milk mixture. Sprinkle with a little salt.

Bake

Bake the puff pastry snacks in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
