Description

Gingerbread yeast dumplings with vanilla sauce - a festive dessert or main course for the winter season, especially for Christmas.

Ingredients (18 ingredients)

  • 350 g Flour
  • 1 Würfel Yeast
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 50 g Butter, soft
  • 100 g Marzipan raw material
  • 50 g Gingerbread
  • 2 EL Rum
  • 1 TL Cinnamon
  • 100 g Almonds
  • 50 g Hazelnuts
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla pudding powder
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • Icing sugar for sprinkling

Preparation (9 steps)

Grind almonds and hazelnuts

Place 100 g almonds and 50 g hazelnuts in the mixing bowl and grind for 10 sec/speed 8. Transfer and set aside.

Prepare yeast

Add 100 ml milk and 1 cube of yeast to the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min/37°C/speed 2.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 350 g flour, 50 g sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 1 egg, 50 g soft butter and the prepared yeast-milk mixture to the mixing bowl and knead for 3 min/kneading level to a smooth dough.

Let the dough rise

Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes until the volume has doubled.

Prepare filling

Place 100 g marzipan raw material, 50 g gingerbread, 2 tbsp rum, 1 tsp cinnamon, the ground almonds and hazelnuts from step 1 in the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec/speed 4. If necessary, scrape down from the edge with the spatula and repeat.

Shape and fill yeast dumplings

Knead the dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide into 6 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a circle (approx. 10 cm diameter). Place 1 tbsp filling in the middle, fold the dough over and shape into dumplings. Place the dumplings on a floured board and cover and let rise for about 15 minutes.

Steam the yeast dumplings

Pour 500 ml water into the mixing bowl. Place the yeast dumplings in the Varoma, keeping enough distance. Attach the Varoma and steam for 25 min/Varoma/speed 1. After steaming, open carefully - hot steam!

Prepare vanilla sauce

7 min/194°F/Speed 3 194°F

Put 500 ml milk, 1 packet vanilla pudding powder, 50 g sugar and 1 pinch of salt into the mixing bowl and cook for 7 min/90°C/speed 3.

Arrange

Arrange the gingerbread yeast dumplings with the vanilla sauce and sprinkle with icing sugar.
