Description

These spicy chicken puff pastry bites are perfect for a cocktail party or festive brunch. I love preparing this recipe because it is quick and easy to make with the Thermomix®. Minced chicken, mixed with fragrant spices and fresh cilantro, offers a savory and slightly spicy filling. The crispy puff pastry contrasts wonderfully with the soft filling. These little delights are even better when served warm, straight from the oven. Feel free to vary the spices according to your tastes for a personalized touch! A real treat for the taste buds!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 250 g Chicken breast
  • 3 piece Spring onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 c. à soupe Cilantro
  • 2 piece Bird's eye chili
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 c. à soupe Ground ginger
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 rouleau Puff pastry
  • 1 piece Egg yolk
  • 2 c. à soupe Sesame seeds

Preparation (9 steps)

1

Preparing the ingredients

Roughly chop the chicken into pieces, halve the spring onions, and peel the garlic clove. Remove the germ from the garlic for better digestion.

2

Chop and mix the filling

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 7

Put the chicken, spring onions, garlic, cilantro, bird's eye chilies (with the seeds), ground ginger, salt, pepper and egg in the Thermomix bowl. Mix everything for 20 Sek./Stufe 7 until a homogeneous paste is obtained. Scrape the sides of the bowl with the spatula if necessary and mix again 5 Sek./Stufe 7.

3

Preparing the puff pastry

Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface and cut it in half lengthwise.

4

Garnish the dough

Place the filling along the entire length of each half of the dough, forming a large sausage.

5

Roll and seal the dough

Roll the dough around the filling. Lightly moisten the last 2 centimeters of the dough with water to seal the edges.

6

Cut out the puff pastries

Cut each roll into 12 equal parts. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, with one side of the dough facing up.

7

Brown and sprinkle with sesame

In a small bowl, beat the egg yolk. Brush the puff pastries with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

8

Baking in the oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the puff pastries are golden brown.

9

Reheat (if necessary)

If the puff pastries have been prepared in advance, reheat them for 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C.
