Description

  • 1 Päckchen Dry yeast
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 0.5 TL Grated lemon zest
  • 250 ml Lukewarm milk
  • 60 g Soft butter
  • 1 Stück Egg yolk for brushing
  • 1 Stück Egg for brushing
  • Pearl sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Add flour, dry yeast, sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Add liquid ingredients and knead dough

Add lukewarm milk, soft butter and grated lemon zest and knead for 2 min./kneading setting. Then add 1 pinch of salt and knead briefly.

Let the dough rise

Let the dough rise covered. Duration: Drink coffee or smoke 1! 🙈 🙉 🙊

Shape braid

After letting it rise, knead the dough on a floured work surface and divide into 4 pieces. Shape these parts. Form into strands and braid a 4-strand braid. Weigh down the beginning of the braid a little so that it holds. Let the braid rise for about 30 minutes. Brush with beaten egg and egg yolk, let it dry briefly, sprinkle with pearl sugar.

Baking

Bake the braid in a preheated oven at 180°C circulating air for approx. 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
