Description

These spice-marinated chicken skewers are an absolute delight, perfect for a summer barbecue or a convivial meal. The yogurt and tandoori spice marinade makes the chicken incredibly tender and flavorful. I have been preparing this recipe for years and it always impresses my guests. The zucchini adds a touch of freshness and color. Ideally, let the chicken marinate overnight for optimal flavor. You can also vary the vegetables by adding peppers or red onions. A simple, fragrant and flavorful dish!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 0.5 c. à c. ginger (powdered)
  • 0.5 c. à c. coriander powder or ground coriander
  • 1 container plain yogurt
  • Salt or fine salt
  • Pepper
  • 0.5 c. à c. cumin powder
  • 1 c. à c. paprika
  • 0.5 piece zucchini
  • 1 piece onion
  • 0.5 piece lemon
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 3 piece chicken breasts

Preparation (6 steps)

Chicken preparation

Cut the 3 chicken breasts into cubes and sprinkle with the juice of ½ lemon. Set aside.

Chop the onion and garlic

Put 1 onion and 2 peeled cloves of garlic in the Thermomix bowl and chop 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Preparation of the marinade

Add ½ tsp of ginger (powdered), ½ tsp of coriander powder, ½ tsp of cumin powder, 1 tsp of paprika, salt, pepper and 1 plain yogurt to the Thermomix bowl. Mix 10 Sek./Stufe 3.

Chicken marinade

Pour the marinade into a large bowl. Add the chicken cubes and mix well to coat each piece. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.

Preparation of the skewers

Cut the ½ zucchini into small pieces. Skewer the chicken cubes and zucchini pieces alternately on wooden skewers.

Cooking the skewers

Light the barbecue and cook the skewers, basting them with marinade during cooking. Cooking is done on the barbecue, not in the Thermomix.
