Description

I love roasting chickpeas in the oven! They are a super easy and delicious snack for in between meals or as a topping for salads. With the Thermomix® they can be prepared perfectly. The chickpeas are first dried and then refined with olive oil and a spicy mixture of sea salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika and curry. Roasting in the oven makes them wonderfully crispy and aromatic. Perfect for a cozy evening or as a healthy alternative to chips! The recipe is vegan and gluten-free.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 500 g Chickpeas - Jar
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika - or mild paprika powder, if children are eating
  • 1 tsp Curry

Preparation (7 steps)

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C top and bottom heat.

Rinse and dry chickpeas

Place 500g of chickpeas from the jar in a sieve and rinse under running water. Then carefully dry the chickpeas with a kitchen towel. The drier the chickpeas, the crispier they will be.

Mix chickpeas with oil

Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and mix well so that all the chickpeas are covered with oil.

Bake chickpeas (Part 1)

Place the chickpeas on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Mix spices

While the chickpeas are baking, mix 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika powder (or mild paprika powder) and 1 teaspoon of curry in a small bowl.

Spice chickpeas

Put the pre-baked chickpeas back into the bowl and mix with the spice mixture until all the chickpeas are evenly covered.

Bake chickpeas (Part 2)

Place the spiced chickpeas back on the baking sheet and bake for another 10 minutes until crispy.
