Description

The Cheeseburger Cake from the Thermomix® is a hearty main course for parties or as a snack. The main ingredients are spelt flour, yeast, butter, egg and of course cheese and meat. Preparation takes a total of 75 minutes, of which 50 minutes are active working time. The recipe yields 10 servings and is ideal for a hearty family meal or as a highlight on the buffet.

Ingredients (20 ingredients)

  • 300 g Water
  • 20 g fresh Yeast
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 600 g Spelt flour Type 630
  • 100 g soft Butter
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 2 TL Salt
  • 1 Stück Egg yolk
  • 1 EL Milk
  • 2 EL Sesame
  • 2 Stück Onions, halved
  • 3 EL Oil
  • 800 g Ground beef
  • 100 g Tomato ketchup
  • 70 g medium-hot Mustard
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 0.5 TL Pepper
  • 4 Stück Slices Cheddar
  • 2 Stück Tomatoes, in slices
  • 6 Blätter Lollo-rosso-lettuce

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 300 g water, 20 g fresh yeast and 40 g sugar to the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min./37°C/speed 2.

Knead dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 600 g spelt flour type 630, 100 g soft butter, 1 egg and 2 tsp salt and knead for 2 min./kneading stage. Cover in a bowl and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Prepare cake ring and shape dough

Place a cake ring on a 34 cm diameter and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Grease the edge of the cake ring with butter. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface, knead through, place in the mold, cover and let rest again for 15 minutes.

Brush and bake dough

Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat. Whisk 1 egg yolk with 1 tbsp milk, brush the dough with it and sprinkle with 2 tbsp sesame. Bake in the hot oven for approx. 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let cool for about 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 120°C.

Chop onions

In the meantime, for the topping, place 2 onions, halved, in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5 and transfer.

Fry ground meat

Heat 3 tbsp oil in a large pan and fry 800 g ground beef in it until crumbly. Reduce the heat, add the chopped onions and continue frying. Add 100 g tomato ketchup, 70 g medium-hot mustard, 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper and stir. Then set aside.

Top and bake bun

Remove the XXL bun from the mold and cut in half horizontally. Place the bottom half back on the baking sheet and spread the ground meat mixture on top. Top with 4 slices of Cheddar and melt in the oven for about 6 minutes.

Finish cheeseburger cake

Remove the bottom bun half from the oven again. Spread 2 tomatoes, sliced, and 6 leaves of Lollo-rosso lettuce on the melted cheese, drizzle with ketchup as desired and place the top bun half on top. Cut the XXL cheeseburger into pieces and serve immediately.
