Description

This dish of chicken simmered with tomato and rice is a comforting classic, perfect for a simple and tasty family meal. I often prepare it when I don't have much time, because it is very easy to make with the Thermomix®. The chicken becomes tender and juicy, and the tomato sauce, slightly tangy, goes perfectly with the rice and peas. It is a complete and balanced dish, ideal for a quick weeknight dinner. Feel free to add other vegetables as you wish, such as carrots or zucchini. A real delight!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 400 slice Chicken
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 0.5 piece Red pepper
  • 0.5 cup Rice
  • 1 can Tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup Peas
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil
  • Boiling water

Preparation (4 steps)

Chop the onion and pepper

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Put the onion in the Thermomix bowl and chop finely for 3 Sec./Stufe 5. Add the oil and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1. Add the red pepper cut into pieces and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 5. Cook for another 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the chicken and rice

Add the chicken slices to the bowl and mix gently with a spatula. Add the rice and mix quickly. Pour in the tomatoes cut into small cubes with all their juice.

Cooking rice and chicken

Thermomix® Setting
212°F/Speed 1/25 min/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add boiling water if necessary (the rice should be completely covered). Season with salt and pepper. Cook everything at 100°C/Stufe 1/25 Min./Linkslauf. Fifteen minutes later, check the amount of water (be careful with the rice, it can stick) and add the peas.

End of cooking

Cook until the rice is tender. Check the seasoning and adjust if necessary. Serve hot.
