Description

This Chinese garlic sauce is a versatile recipe that can be prepared quickly and easily in the Thermomix®. With just a few ingredients such as garlic, ginger, soy sauce and honey, you can create an aromatic sauce that is perfect for Asian dishes. The preparation time is about 20 minutes, and the recipe is ideal for vegans and vegetarians. Enhance your stir-fries or use the sauce as a dip - a true all-rounder for Asian cuisine.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 5 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 1 Stück small onion
  • 1 TL freshly grated ginger
  • 1 EL Oil (sesame or sunflower oil)
  • 3 EL Soy sauce
  • 1 EL Rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 1 EL Honey or brown sugar
  • 150 ml Vegetable broth or water
  • 1 TL Cornstarch

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop garlic and onion

Thermomix® Setting

Place 5 garlic cloves in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Add 1 small onion and chop for another 3 sec./speed 5. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Add ginger and sauté

Add 1 tbsp oil (sesame or sunflower oil) and 1 tsp freshly grated ginger to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add liquids and simmer

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 212°F

Add 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar or white wine vinegar, 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar and 150 ml vegetable broth or water to the mixing bowl and simmer for 5 min./100°C/speed 2.

Thicken the sauce

Add 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water) to the mixing bowl and simmer for 2 min./100°C/speed 2 until the sauce thickens slightly.

Season to taste

Optionally add chili flakes for some heat and adjust with a little more soy sauce or honey if needed. The sauce is now ready to serve.
