Description

These spiced pumpkin doughnuts are a delightful autumn treat! I've been making these for years, and they always disappear quickly. The pumpkin puree adds a lovely moistness and subtle sweetness, while the pumpkin pie spice gives them that warm, comforting flavor we all crave in the fall. They're perfect for a weekend brunch or a festive dessert. The glaze adds a touch of sweetness and makes them extra special. These doughnuts are best enjoyed fresh, but they can also be stored in an airtight container for a day or two. Enjoy!

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 piece eggs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 4 teaspoons milk, or as needed

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare the oven and baking sheets

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 baking sheets. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Combine dry ingredients

Add 2 cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon baking soda to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 Sec./Stufe 4.

Add wet ingredients and mix

20 sec/Speed 3

Add ¾ cup pumpkin puree, 2 eggs, ¼ cup milk, and ¼ cup softened butter to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 Sec./Stufe 3 until completely incorporated. Use the spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl if needed.

Pipe doughnuts onto baking sheets

Spoon pumpkin mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip with a 1/2-inch opening. Pipe 3-inch circles onto prepared baking sheets. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Bake the doughnuts

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 13 minutes. Remove doughnuts to a wire rack to cool. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Prepare the glaze

Add 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted, ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 5 Sec./Stufe 3. Gradually add 4 teaspoons milk, or as needed, and mix for another 5 Sec./Stufe 3 until a glaze consistency is reached.

Glaze the doughnuts

Brush glaze over doughnuts with a pastry brush or spoon over the tops. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.
