Description

These cinnamon stars are a classic Christmas cookie that is easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. The recipe uses ground almonds, powdered sugar, cinnamon and bitter almond flavor for an aromatic dough. Preparation takes about 45 minutes of work plus 2 hours of chilling time. The recipe makes about 60 cinnamon stars and is ideal for the festive season.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 500 g ground almonds
  • 300 g powdered sugar
  • 3 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 piece Egg white
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 0.5 Fläschchen Bitter almond flavor
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 125 g Powdered sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4, 2 min/Kneading speed

Add 500 g ground almonds, 300 g powdered sugar and 3 tsp cinnamon to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 4. Add 2 egg whites, 2 tbsp milk and ½ bottle of bitter almond flavor and process for 2 min/kneading stage to form a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for at least 2 hours.

Cut out cinnamon stars

Sprinkle the work surface with some powdered sugar. Roll out the cinnamon star dough on it and cut out stars. Place the stars on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them.

Prepare meringue

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/Speed 3.5, 1 min/Speed 3

Place 1 egg white in the mixing bowl and whisk with butterfly for 3 min/speed 3.5 until stiff. Add 125 g powdered sugar and mix for 1 min/speed 3 until a homogeneous meringue mixture is formed.

Spread cinnamon stars

Brush the meringue on the unbaked cookies.

Bake cinnamon stars

Bake the cinnamon stars in a preheated oven at 150°C top/bottom heat for 10 minutes. Make sure that the meringue does not get too dark.
