Hazelnut Cocoa Confection

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 75 g Flour
  • 250 g Cornstarch
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 30 g Baking cocoa (cocoa powder weakly de-oiled, unsweetened)
  • 250 g Margarine
  • 75 g Hazelnuts

Preparation (7 steps)

Chop hazelnuts

Put 75 g of hazelnuts into the mixing bowl and chop for 8 sec./speed 6. Transfer and set aside.

Mix dry ingredients

15 sec/Speed 4

Put 75 g flour, 250 g cornstarch, 100 g icing sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 30 g baking cocoa into the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec./speed 4.

Add margarine and knead

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 250 g margarine in small flakes to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading speed to a smooth dough. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge.

Knead in hazelnuts

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Linkslauf/Speed 2 Reverse

Add the chopped hazelnuts to the dough in the mixing bowl and knead in for 20 sec./reverse/speed 2.

Shape dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and form into rolls (Ø approx. 3 cm). Cut the rolls into approx. 1 cm thick slices. Form each slice around a hazelnut into a ball.

Baking

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven: 160 °C). Bake the cocoa balls on baking trays lined with baking paper in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

Decorate

Let the cocoa balls cool and then sprinkle with icing sugar or roll in icing sugar as desired.
