Description

This apple jam is a true delight, especially when the apples come from your own garden! I make it every year in the fall when the apple harvest is plentiful. The scent of cinnamon and apple that wafts through the kitchen while cooking is simply wonderful. The jam tastes delicious on fresh bread or rolls and is also a great gift idea. If you like it a little finer, you can peel the apples before cooking and cut them into small cubes. A touch of lemon juice adds a fresh note.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Apples
  • 500 ml Apple juice
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • Cinnamon
  • 500 g Preserving sugar

Preparation (4 steps)

Prepare apples

Peel, core and cut 1 kg apples into small pieces. For a visually appealing jam, first quarter the apples and then cut them into thin slices.

Stew apples

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Put 500 ml apple juice into the mixing bowl, add the prepared apple pieces and simmer for 25 Min./100°C/level 1 without the measuring cup. If you prefer a finer jam, you can then puree the mixture for 10 Sec./level 8.

Finish jam

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 2 tsp lemon juice, cinnamon to taste and 500 g preserving sugar to the mixing bowl and stir in for 10 Min./100°C/level 2 without the measuring cup. The jam should come to a boil once.

Filling and storing

Pour the hot apple jam to the brim into sterile jars. Close the jars immediately and optionally turn them upside down briefly to create a vacuum.
