Description

This hearty sauerkraut casserole is real comfort food! I like to make it when it's cold outside and I need something hearty. The sauerkraut gets a completely new note through the ground meat and the creamy sauce. The preparation is super easy and goes with the Thermomix® very quickly. Perfect if you don't feel like standing in the kitchen for a long time. If you like, you can sprinkle some grated cheese over the casserole. Mashed potatoes or just fresh bread go well with it. A great dish for the whole family!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 1 can Sauerkraut
  • 1 Pck. Lean ham, diced
  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 1 Flasche Chili sauce or Hungarian-style paprika sauce
  • 2 container Cream or cooking cream alternative
  • 1 container Sour cream or light cream
  • 1 piece Medium-sized Onion(s)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Paprika powder

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop onion

Thermomix® Setting

Peel, quarter and place the onion in the mixing bowl. Chop 3 sec./speed 5.

Fry ground meat

Remove the chopped onion mixture from the mixing bowl and set aside. Fry the ground meat in a pan with some oil until it is crumbly. Add the chopped onions and fry briefly. Then put the ground meat-onion mixture in a casserole dish.

Render ham and sauté sauerkraut

Render the diced ham in the same pan. Add the sauerkraut and chili or paprika sauce and simmer briefly. Then add the sauerkraut mixture to the casserole dish with the ground meat.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Put cream, sour cream, salt, pepper and paprika powder in the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Complete casserole

Pour the sauce evenly over the casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C convection for about 15 minutes.
