Description

This creamy cauliflower macaroni casserole with cheese biscuit crust, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a hearty main course with cauliflower, macaroni, creme fraiche and cheese. Cooked ham provides a savory note. Ready in just 35 minutes for 4 servings. Ideal as a warm family meal or for lovers of classic cheese pasta cuisine.

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 mittelgroß Cauliflower
  • 300 g Macaroni, short
  • 200 ml Cooking water
  • 200 g Creme Fraiche
  • 200 g Gruyère or Emmentaler, grated
  • 50 g Parmesan, grated
  • 300 g Cooked ham, diced
  • 2 EL Salt
  • 1 TL Olive oil
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Prise Pepper, black
  • 1 Messerspitze Nutmeg, grated
  • 28 Stück Biscuits, salty
  • 4 EL Parmesan, grated
  • 60 g Butter
  • 2 EL Parsley, chopped

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop biscuits

Put 28 biscuits into the mixing bowl and chop for 10 sec./level 8. Transfer and set aside.

Melt butter

Put 60g butter in the mixing bowl and melt for 2 min./50°C/level 1.

Prepare crust

Add chopped biscuits and 4 tbsp grated Parmesan to the melted butter in the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./level 3. Transfer and set aside.

Cook cauliflower and macaroni

Thermomix® Setting
7-8 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Place 1 medium cauliflower (quartered and stalk removed) and 300g macaroni into the simmering basket. Add 2 tbsp salt and 1 tsp olive oil to the mixing bowl, pour in 1200g water and insert simmering basket. Cook for 7-8 min./Varoma/level 1.

Mix casserole

15 sec/Gentle stir speed

Remove 200 ml cooking water. Drain the cauliflower and macaroni and put in the mixing bowl. Add 200g Creme Fraiche, 200g grated Gruyère or Emmentaler, 50g grated Parmesan, 300g diced cooked ham, salt, pepper and nutmeg and mix for 15 sec./gentle stir setting.

Bake casserole

Pour the casserole mixture into a greased casserole dish, sprinkle with the prepared crust and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C top/bottom heat for approx. 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
