Description

This braised pork collar, prepared in the Thermomix®, is the perfect filling for burgers. The recipe is hearty, ideal for parties and can be prepared well in advance. With a preparation time of about 3 hours and 30 minutes of working time, it yields 6 servings. Served with barbecue sauce, mixed pickles and onion rings, a real treat.

  • 2.5 kg Pork collar
  • 250 ml Apple juice
  • 150 ml Vegetable broth
  • 3 EL Sugar, brown
  • 4 EL Grill seasoning
  • 6 Rolls
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Mixed Pickles
  • Onion(s)
  • Lettuce

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare pork collar

Rub the pork collar with grill seasoning. Perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.

Sear pork collar

Sear the pork collar in a pan from all sides. Perform this step outside of the Thermomix®.

Add liquids

Add apple juice, vegetable broth and brown sugar into the mixing bowl.

Cook pork collar

Thermomix® Setting

Add the seared pork collar into the mixing bowl with the liquids and cook for 3 hours/Varoma/speed 1.

Shred meat

Remove the cooked pork collar from the mixing bowl and pull it apart with two forks (shred).

Reduce sauce

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/Varoma/Speed 2 Varoma

Pour the cooking liquid from the mixing bowl without meat back into the mixing bowl and reduce for 20 min./Varoma/speed 2 without measuring cup to concentrate the sauce.

Serve Pulled Pork

Mix the shredded meat with the reduced sauce and serve on rolls with barbecue sauce, mixed pickles, onion rings and lettuce.
