Description

These spelt fork biscuits from the Thermomix® are a simple, vegetarian pastry with spelt flour, honey and cinnamon. Preparation takes about 47 minutes and yields 20 servings. Ideal as a Christmas snack, for breakfast or as a sweet finger food. The spelt makes the biscuits a little more wholesome. Suitable for light cuisine and as a sweet treat for the whole family.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 250 g Wholemeal Spelt Flour
  • 125 g Margarine
  • 125 g Honey (light, thick creamy honey)
  • 1 TL Cinnamon
  • 1 TL Baking Cocoa (cocoa powder deoiled, unsweetened)
  • Baking paper

Preparation (6 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection: 180 °C). Line a baking sheet with baking paper. This step takes place outside of the Thermomix.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/keine/Speed 4

Put 250 g wholemeal spelt flour, 125 g margarine and 125 g honey (light, thick creamy honey) into the mixing bowl and process for 2 min/speed 4 to a smooth dough. If necessary, scrape from the edge with the spatula.

Shape biscuits

With floured hands, take walnut-sized portions of the dough. Form into balls, flatten and place on the baking sheet lined with baking paper. This step takes place outside of the Thermomix.

Prepare cinnamon cocoa mixture

Mix 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp baking cocoa (cocoa powder deoiled, unsweetened) on a small plate. This step takes place outside of the Thermomix.

Decorate biscuits

First press the tips of a cake fork or fork into the cinnamon-cocoa powder and then lightly onto the spelt biscuits. This step takes place outside of the Thermomix.

Bake biscuits

Bake the prepared spelt biscuits in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes until they are lightly browned. Remove from the tray with the baking paper and let cool on a cake rack or wire rack. This step takes place outside of the Thermomix.
