Dieses Chicken Jalfrezi ist ein aromatisches und scharfes Gericht, das ich besonders gerne zubereite, wenn es schnell gehen muss, aber trotzdem etwas Besonderes auf den Tisch kommen soll. Die Kombination aus zarten Hähnchenbruststücken, knackigem Gemüse und einer würzigen Tomatensauce ist einfach unschlagbar. Ich mache es oft für Geburtstage oder einfach so, wenn ich Lust auf etwas Pikantes habe. Die Zubereitung mit dem Thermomix® ist super einfach und spart Zeit. Serviert mit Basmatireis oder Naan-Brot ist es ein echtes Festmahl!

Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 0.5 piece onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 piece green chilli
  • vegetable oil
  • 400 g can plum tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 piece chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 0.5 piece onion
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 2 piece red chillies
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • fresh, chopped coriander leaves

Preparation (12 steps)

Chicken Marinade

Dice 2-3 chicken breasts and place in a bowl. Add 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground coriander, and 1 tsp turmeric. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

Prepare Onion and Garlic

Place ½ large onion (roughly chopped), 2 garlic cloves, and 1 green chilli (finely chopped) into the Thermomix® bowl. Chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 5.

Sauté Onion Mixture

Add a little vegetable oil to the Thermomix® bowl. Sauté the onion mixture for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Simmer Onion Mixture

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 300ml water to the Thermomix® bowl. Simmer for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Prepare Tomato Sauce

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8

Add 400g can plum tomatoes to the Thermomix® bowl. Blend for 30 Sec./Stufe 8 to achieve a smooth consistency.

Sauté Spices

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add a splash of vegetable oil, 1 tbsp ground coriander, 1 tbsp ground cumin, and 1 tsp turmeric to the Thermomix® bowl. Sauté for 1 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Simmer Tomato Sauce

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add the tomato sauce from the previous step to the Thermomix® bowl. Simmer for 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Blend Onion Mixture

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8

Add the onion mixture from step 4 to the Thermomix® bowl. Blend for 30 Sec./Stufe 8.

Simmer Sauce

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add the blended onion mixture to the spiced tomato sauce in the Thermomix® bowl. Season generously with salt and pepper. Stir, then simmer for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Fry Chicken and Vegetables

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated chicken, stirring continuously, until browned. Add the remaining ½ sliced onion, 1 chopped red pepper, and 2 finely chopped red chillies. Stir until the onions and pepper soften.

Combine and Simmer

Add the sauce prepared earlier from the Thermomix® to the cooked chicken and vegetables in the pan. Simmer for around 10-20 minutes, adding a splash of water if it gets too thick.

Final Touches

Just before serving, stir in 2 tsp garam masala and a handful of fresh, chopped coriander leaves.
