Description

This fluffy sweet bread is a delight to enjoy at any time of the year, but especially during the Christmas holidays. The recipe is simple and the result is a tender and aromatic bread, perfect to accompany a coffee or hot chocolate. The key is in the double proofing, which gives it an incredibly soft and airy texture. I always prepare it to share with my family and friends, and it is always a success! You can add a few drops of orange blossom essence for an extra touch of flavor. Go ahead and try it, you will love it!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 cucharada sopera honey or malt
  • 1 pinch orange blossom water
  • 50 gramos sugar
  • 250 gramos 000 flour
  • 50 mililitros milk
  • 12 gramos fresh yeast

Mix dry ingredients

In the Thermomix bowl, add 250 grams of 000 flour and 50 grams of sugar. Mix for 5 seconds/Stufe 4.

Add wet ingredients

Add 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of honey or malt, 1 pinch of orange blossom water and 50 milliliters of warm milk to the bowl. Crumble 12 grams of fresh yeast over the ingredients. Mix for 20 seconds/Stufe 3.

Knead

Knead the mixture for 3 minutes/Knetstufe. If the dough is very sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.

First proofing

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl and place it in a lightly greased container. Cover with a cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 30-40 minutes, or until it doubles in volume.

Second proofing

Place the dough in a disposable quarter kilo mold. Cover and let it proof again for about 40 minutes or until it doubles in volume.

Bake

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Bake the sweet bread for 20 minutes. If the oven is very strong, add a source with water at the base and, after about 10 minutes, remove and let it cook for the rest of the time.
