Description

These fragrant waffles with a hint of vanilla and rum are an absolute delight, especially in the cold season. I like to make them for Sunday brunch or as a sweet surprise for my family. The preparation is straightforward and the Thermomix® makes it particularly easy to obtain a uniform dough. The rum gives the waffles a delicate, wintery note that goes perfectly with powdered sugar. If you like, you can also serve them with fresh fruit or a scoop of ice cream. A recipe that is guaranteed to bring smiles!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 300 g Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 6 piece Eggs (Size M)
  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 gestr. TL Baking powder
  • 0.25 l Milk
  • 1 Pck. Bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp Rum or Milk
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix butter, salt and sugar until creamy

Add 300 g butter, 1 pinch of salt and 75 g sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min./speed 3 until creamy.

Stir in eggs

15 sec/keine/Speed 3

Add 6 eggs (size M) one at a time to the mixing bowl and stir in for 15 seconds/speed 3 each time. Use a spatula to push everything off the edge.

Mix and stir in flour and baking powder

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/keine/Speed 4

Add 500 g flour and 2 level tsp baking powder to the mixing bowl. Add ¼ l milk and stir in for 30 seconds/speed 4. Use a spatula to push everything off the edge.

Divide dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and cut in half.

Stir in vanilla sugar and rum

15 sec/keine/Speed 3

Put one half of the dough back into the mixing bowl. Add 1 pack bourbon vanilla sugar and 3-4 tbsp rum (or milk) and mix for 15 seconds/speed 3.

Bake waffles

Preheat and grease the waffle iron. Add 1 ladle of dough to the middle of the waffle iron and bake until golden brown. Keep the finished waffles warm in the hot oven at 80°C or serve immediately.

Serve

Dust the waffles with powdered sugar and serve warm.
