Description

Small fried fish is a classic of Italian seafood cuisine, a simple but flavourful dish. Preparing this delicious fried dish with the Thermomix® is child's play! The small, very fresh and crispy fish are perfect as a starter or a light main course. I love serving them with a squeeze of lemon and a grind of black pepper. Small fried fish is ideal for a summer lunch with the family or an informal dinner with friends. The preparation is quick and the result is always a success. A tip? Accompany it with a good glass of fresh white wine!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 0.5 kg small fish
  • 0.5 cup flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • lemon
  • oil for frying

Preparation (4 steps)

Cleaned and salted fish

Wash 500g of small fish carefully without cleaning them internally. Transfer them to a bowl and add salt and pepper to taste. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.

Preparation for frying

Pour 1/2 cup of flour into a plastic bag. Insert the small fish into the bag, close and shake gently to flour them evenly.

Frying the small fish

Fill a deep pan with plenty of oil for frying. Heat the oil until it reaches the ideal temperature for frying. Fry the floured small fish in small quantities, making sure they don't overlap. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Draining and serving

Drain the fried small fish on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve immediately with freshly ground pepper and lemon wedges.
