Description

These filled almond confection pieces from the Thermomix® are a festive dessert or finger food, ideal for the Christmas season. The main ingredients are almonds, marzipan, raisins, apricots, and candied lemon peel. The preparation takes a total of 160 minutes, with the active working time being about 30 minutes. The recipe yields one portion and is perfect for lovers of confectionery and almond pastries.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 100 g Raisins
  • 100 g Apricots, dried, diced small
  • 50 g Candied lemon peel
  • 100 g Almonds, chopped
  • 100 g Marzipan
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 Beutel Baking powder
  • 2 Beutel Vanilla sugar
  • 2 EL Rum
  • 300 g Butter or margarine
  • 2 Stück Eggs
  • 600 g Flour
  • 2 Beutel Vanilla sugar (for decoration)
  • 3 EL Powdered sugar (for decoration)
  • 0.5 TL Cinnamon powder (for decoration)

Preparation (9 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Add 100 g raisins, 100 g small diced, dried apricots, 50 g candied lemon peel, 100 g chopped almonds, 150 g sugar, 1 packet baking powder and 2 packets vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 5.

Chop marzipan

Add 100 g marzipan in pieces to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 6.

Add liquid ingredients

Add 2 tbsp rum, 300 g butter or margarine in pieces and 2 eggs to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.

Knead dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 600 g flour and knead for 2 min/kneading stage to a smooth dough. If necessary, scrape from the edge with the spatula.

Shape and chill dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, form into long rolls with your hands, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Shape confection pieces

Remove the dough rolls from the refrigerator and divide into 2-3 cm pieces. Place these with space on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake confection

Bake the confection pieces in a preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat for approx. 8-10 minutes until lightly brown.

Make sugar-cinnamon mixture

While the confection pieces are baking, add 2 packets of vanilla sugar, 3 tbsp powdered sugar and 0.5 tsp cinnamon powder to the mixing bowl and mix for 5 sec/speed 8.

Decorate confection

Place the baked confection pieces on a wire rack and sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mixture while they are still hot.
