Description

This spiced pilaf rice is a tasty and easy side dish to prepare with the Thermomix®. I love this recipe because it's quick and allows you to flavor the rice in an original way. Ginger and curry bring a warm and exotic touch that goes perfectly with many dishes. Ideal to accompany grilled vegetables, white meats or fish. This dish is perfect for a quick lunch or a friendly dinner. Feel free to adjust the amount of curry to your preference for a more or less spicy dish. A real delight!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 0.5 c. à c. ginger (powdered)
  • 1 cube poultry stock
  • 3 c. à s. curry
  • 1.5 piece onion (large)
  • 1.5 volume water
  • 200 g rice

Preparation (5 steps)

Preparation of the onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Cut the onions in half and put them in the Thermomix® bowl. Chop the onions for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Cooking the onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add a little olive oil to the Thermomix® bowl. Sauté the chopped onions for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding rice and spices

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add the rice, powdered ginger, curry, salt and pepper to the Thermomix® bowl. Mix for 10 Sek./Linkslauf Stufe 2 to coat the rice well.

Broth preparation

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 3

Add water and poultry stock cube (or veal stock) to the Thermomix® bowl. Mix for 5 Sek./Stufe 3 to dissolve the broth.

Cooking the pilaf rice

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Cook the pilaf rice for 20 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1. Check the cooking and add a little water if necessary and continue cooking for a few minutes.
