Description

These hearty puff pastry snails are a real hit at any party or cozy brunch! I've been making them for years and they are always a hit. The puff pastry is spread with a spicy filling of onions, ham, sour cream and cheese, rolled up and sliced. After a short baking time, they are golden brown and simply irresistible. They are a pleasure when warm, but also taste good cold. Ideal if you need something quick and still want to offer something delicious. Preparation is very easy and doesn't take long.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 2 Pck. Puff pastry rolled out
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 1 container Sour cream
  • 200 g Cheese grated
  • 250 g Ham cooked

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop onion

Thermomix® Setting

Place the onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onion

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Leave the chopped onion in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare filling

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Add ham, sour cream and cheese to the onions in the mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Spread puff pastry and roll up

Spread the rolled out puff pastry with the prepared filling and roll up into a sausage.

Cut snails

Cut the puff pastry roll into slices about 2 cm thick with a sharp knife and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Baking

Bake the pizza snails in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
