Description

This zucchini gratin with country flavors is a comforting and easy to prepare dish, perfect for a family dinner or a Sunday brunch. I love using fresh zucchini from the garden, their flavor is incomparable! The bacon bits bring a smoky and delicious touch, while the melted Swiss cheese browns wonderfully. The fresh cream and eggs bind everything together for a smooth texture. This gratin is ready in less than an hour and can be prepared in advance. A real treat for vegetable and cheese lovers!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 4 piece zucchinis
  • 125 g bacon bits
  • 200 g Swiss cheese
  • 50 cl fresh cream
  • 50 g butter
  • 3 piece eggs
  • 2 piece onions
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Preparation of the zucchinis

Wash the zucchinis without peeling them, dry them and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick. Set aside.

Chop the onions

Cut the onions into quarters and put them in the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Cooking the bacon bits and onions

Sauté the bacon bits and chopped onions in a pan without fat until they are lightly browned. Then add the zucchini slices and cook until they are tender.

Preparation of the sauce

In a salad bowl, beat the eggs into an omelet. Add the fresh cream, grated Swiss cheese, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Assembly and cooking of the gratin

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter a gratin dish. Pour the zucchini, onions and bacon bits into the dish. Add the egg preparation. Let it brown in the hot oven for 15 minutes, or until the gratin is golden.
