Description

This fish goulash is a hearty main course prepared with tender cod fillet and creamy sauce. The addition of Spätzle makes the dish particularly filling. With a preparation time of approximately 55 minutes, it is ideal for a warming lunch or dinner. Suitable for 2 servings.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 600 g Fish fillet(s) (Cod fillet)
  • 1 Stück Onion(s)
  • 20 g Clarified butter
  • 1 Becher Crème fraîche
  • 100 ml Chicken broth
  • 2 EL Tomato paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika powder
  • Lemon juice
  • 250 g Spätzle
  • Salt water

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare fish

Pat 600 g of fish fillet dry, cut into large cubes and season with salt, pepper and paprika powder. Drizzle with lemon juice and let sit for 10 minutes.

Cook Spätzle

Cook 250 g of Spätzle in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Chop onions

Peel 1 medium-sized onion, halve and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec/speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 20 g of clarified butter to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min/120°C/speed 1.

Fry fish

Carefully fry the prepared fish fillet in a separate pan with a little oil. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Prepare sauce

Add 1 container of crème fraîche, 2 tbsp of tomato paste and 100 ml of chicken broth to the onions in the mixing bowl and stir in for 5 min/100°C/speed 2. Bring to a boil once.

Finish cooking fish

5 min/194°F/Gentle stir speed 194°F Reverse

Place the fried fish pieces in the sauce in the mixing bowl and let simmer for about 5 min/90°C/gentle stir setting.

Season and serve

Season the sauce with salt and pepper if necessary. Serve with the Spätzle.
