Description

This Hungarian turkey goulash with garlic and lemon is a hearty main course that takes about 75 minutes to prepare. The dish is designed for 4 servings and is ideal for a savory lunch or dinner. Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 250 g Onions
  • 650 g Turkey goulash (from the leg)
  • 2 EL Rapeseed oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 0.5 EL Paprika powder (hot)
  • 2 EL Paprika powder (sweet)
  • 2 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 1 Stück Organic lemon
  • 1 TL Caraway

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop onions

Place 5 small onions (approx. 250 g) in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 2 tbsp rapeseed oil to the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min/120°C/speed 1.

Brown meat

Brown 650 g turkey goulash (from the leg) in a separate pan with 1 tbsp rapeseed oil and season with salt and pepper.

Add meat and simmer

Add the browned meat to the onions in the mixing bowl and simmer for 10 min/100°C/soft stirring.

Add paprika powder

Sprinkle 0.5 tbsp paprika powder (hot) and 2 tbsp paprika powder (sweet) over the meat and stir in for 10 sec/100°C/soft stirring.

Add water and simmer

Pour about 400-500 ml of water into the mixing bowl with the meat until it is just covered. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 35 min/100°C/soft stirring.

Prepare garlic and lemon

Peel 2 garlic cloves. Rinse 1 organic lemon with hot water, pat dry and grate the zest. Finely chop the garlic together with the lemon zest, some salt and 1 tsp caraway.

Finish the goulash

At the end of the cooking time, let the liquid reduce a little, uncovered, if necessary. Stir the garlic mixture into the goulash and season with some salt and pepper. Stir in for 5 sec/100°C/soft stirring.
